Adebayor was the star of the match
Emmanuel Adebayor scored two goals and made another as Arsenal secured a crucial victory at Manchester City on Saturday. The Togolese striker clipped home Bacary Sagna’s cross in the ninth minute and Alex Hleb’s cut back three minutes from time to give him 11 strikes in his last eight games. Inbetween those efforts he also nodded down Gael Clichy’s swirling cross for Eduardo to hook home Arsenal’s second goal midway through the first half.

The game in a draw against Derby
Daniel Sturridge’s second-half effort denied Paul Jewell his first Premier League win as Derby boss. Derby had taken the lead inside the opening seconds of the second half when Kenny Miller’s wayward shot took a huge deflection off Sun Jihai and left City keeper Joe Hart with no chance.

Match in a draw against West Ham
This match surely couldn’t be any more tedious than the dire fare these two teams served up last Wednesday in their will-to-live-sapping FA Cup third-round replay – and thankfully it was not. Manchester City and West Ham shared the spoils this afternoon at Eastlands in a game which, while far from a classic, was nevertheless an open and interesting affair
